Privacy Policy for ClapGuard

Effective Date: October 31, 2026

Last Updated: October 31, 2026

On-Device Privacy Guarantee: ClapGuard uses on-device artificial intelligence to recognize claps and whistles. Audio processed by your microphone is analyzed locally in volatile memory (RAM) in real-time. Audio recordings are NEVER stored, saved, or uploaded to any server.

1. Audio Processing & Microphone Permission

ClapGuard requests the RECORD_AUDIO permission solely to perform real-time acoustic recognition of clapping and whistling sounds so you can locate your device.

2. Camera Permission (Flashlight Alert)

The CAMERA permission is requested strictly to control the rear LED torch / flashlight when the alarm triggers to help you find your phone in the dark. The camera optical sensor is never opened, accessed, or used to capture images or video.

3. Phone State & Call Detection

ClapGuard checks telephony call state (READ_PHONE_STATE) solely to automatically mute sound detection while you are engaged in an active phone call, preventing audio conflicts and false triggers. We never read contact lists, phone numbers, or call history.

4. Device Sensors (Anti-Theft Motion & Pocket Guard)

The application accesses accelerometer and proximity sensor data locally on the device to detect movement and pickpocketing attempts. Sensor readings remain strictly on your device.

5. Third-Party Advertising (Google AdMob)

ClapGuard displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob to support ongoing development.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy occasionally. Any updates will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date.
